A two-day medical and surgical mission is set to benefit over 100 Ilocanos in need of minor and major surgeries. The initiative aims to provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities in the region. A dedicated team of doctors will conduct the procedures, ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical attention. This mission underscores the ongoing efforts to improve access to healthcare for all.
A recent medical mission in Ilocos Norte provided free medical services to approximately 600 patients, addressing a wide range of health needs. This initiative aimed to enhance healthcare accessibility for underserved communities in the region.
A medical mission titled “Operasyon Bigay-Lunas” is scheduled to take place at the Laoag City Auditorium on June 6, 2025. Organized by a pharmaceutical company in collaboration with the Laoag City Health Office, this initiative aims to provide free medical services to residents of Laoag City. The event will run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and is part of the company’s anniversary celebration. Dr. Rodrigo Catcatan, head of the City Health Office, encourages local residents to take advantage of this opportunity to receive essential healthcare services.
A group of over 50 doctors, all alumni of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERM), organized a two-day medical and surgical mission in Ilocos Norte. In partnership with The Good Hope Future Foundation and Sina97ala Medical Association, the mission provided both minor and major surgical procedures, including thyroidectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and lumpectomy. More than 50 medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, participated in the initiative. Pre-screening of patients was conducted in February to ensure readiness for the surgeries. Dr. Medeldorf Gaoat, chairman of the provincial health committee, expressed gratitude for the collaboration and indicated the possibility of future missions based on community needs.
